FUNCTIONAL TESTING

Most people don't wake up one morning with fatigue, weight gain, autoimmune disease, or hormone imbalance. These problems often develop over years as multiple systems begin influencing one another. Functional lab testing allows us to look beneath symptoms and identify patterns that may explain why you're not feeling like yourself.

Rather than asking "What medication matches this symptom?" functional testing asks:

Why is this happening in the first place?

I use advanced laboratory testing alongside a detailed health history to create a personalized roadmap. The goal isn't to chase numbers. It's to understand how your hormones, digestion, metabolism, immune system, and nervous system are interacting.

I do not diagnose or treat disease. Rather, I use functional assessment to help identify patterns that may be contributing to symptoms and to guide personalized nutrition, lifestyle, and health strategies.

Your Body Leaves Clues

Functional Testing Helps Find Them

GUT HEALTH/MENTAL
HEALTH

Your gut influences digestion, immunity, hormones, mood, and inflammation. The GI-MAP helps uncover infections, imbalances, and dysfunction that standard testing often misses.

HORMONE BALANCING/ADRENAL HEALTH

Hormones are messengers, not isolated numbers. DUTCH testing provides a deeper understanding of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and how your body metabolizes them.

FUNCTIONAL LABWORK/THYROID HEALTH

I don't simply ask whether your labs fall within the reference range. I look for patterns that may reveal nutrient deficiencies, inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, insulin resistance, and early metabolic changes.

What Testing Might We Use?

Every client is different. Depending on your history and goals, we may consider:

• GI-MAP (gut microbiome and mood/digestive health)

• DUTCH hormone testing

• Comprehensive blood chemistry analysis

• Organic Acids Testing

• Food sensitivity assessment

• Genetic and nutrigenomic review

• Additional specialty testing when appropriate

Not every client requires extensive testing. The goal is not to order more labs, but to order the right labs when they provide meaningful information.
